Gary Anderson is predominantly a nonobjective minimalist sculptor who works in steel – mild and stainless, from tabletop to large- than-life size. Occasionally he does stylized figurative work but traditionally on a smaller scale.
He is forthcoming about his art, saying, “My art has always driven me, always pushed me to take the next step, one idea follows another. I sculpt to see what I will have sculpted. My work is hard-edge, but rusted to make the material look softer.”
Anderson’s work has been shown at Sculpture in the Park at Loveland, the Moab Arts Festival, Sculpture Tuscon, and is in private collections from coast-to-coast.
